In our search of finding out new medias to convert and sent messages in a bigger audiences, Radio must played a crucial part on being our very first channel in modern world. As early as early 1900, Radio had merge into the technology of modern communication, even being one of the tools for the success behind western propaganda, especially the USA.

Indonesia had known the existence of Radio, as it was one of the most popular media throughout the 1940s, where war was still upon us and the information shared towards the third world country were as important as survival itself. Sutan Sjahrir, one of the very first minister of our country was the first one to hear Japan defeat via the US radio channel, which he immediately informed everyone that our very own independence needed to be of our own, not given. If it wasn't for Sjahrir, who listened to the radio, our country wouldn't probably gotten our independence as early as August 17 1945.

Our speaker today on Thursday was coming from radio, a guy that work behind every sounds from everything we heard either in the car or our phone, Dodit, as he was well known of, worked in MRI Group that mothered most of the popular radio stations in Indonesia like Trax FM. In one of his lecture, Dodit explained how radio, different from other media is more personalized, that's why radio always had the loyal listener in every of their broadcast.

Theses so called loyal listeners are willing to followed the Radio DJ wherever they went, because, as Dodit explained, radio has this personal characterization that made their listener felt closer with the DJ that provided them entertainments.

Aside from that, radio content also completed with the thoughts of their listener, as they comply to their wishes and those, making their listeners stayed to look what would happened next as time progress.

Dodit also highlited the changing of media channel in the modern world, how right now, radio can still live through advertisement with specific market, that radio will still continue to perish in the competitiveness and tight evaluation of other new forms of media, like the internet.

Towards the end, where students are allowed to ask question of their own, Dodit answered one question about how radio contents are now possible to be on demand, as in a podcast format so the listener, especially the millenials whose characteristics are usually consume the content around their own comfort zone.

With this new format, and media apps where you could just easily listened to your favorite radio channel on your phone, radio isn't afraid to face the challenging market amongst new media, rather jump in, bravely through them.
